Rails Down Mariachis, 5-4
|
Richland Rails starter Marcos Vigil pitched a strong game against the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis at Mariachi Band Shell, leading the Rails to victory, 5-4. Richland reliever Juan Trujillo picked up the win, raising his record to 3-3. Francisco Pacheco was tagged with the loss. The Rails raised their record to 14-33.
Richland used the timely hitting of Andrés García to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Rails on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
In postgame comments, García said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
