Losing Streak Continues for Rails with 2-1 Loss to Turbeaus
|
The Gulf Coast Turbeaus did just enough to sneak past the Richland Rails, 2-1, at Mobile Home Park. Gulf Coast pitcher Chris Byrd, in particular, had a standout performance. The losing skid has reached 8 games for Richland.
In the bottom of the third, Gulf Coast right fielder Senzo Matsuura had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Matsuura stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 1-0, Gulf Coast. For the game, he was 1 for 4.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Richland manager Tony Newell.
