Virginia Beach got a terrific performance from pitcher Kevin Horton, but it wasn't enough to beat the Olympia Ogres. Olympia won the Virginia Beach Grounds contest, 4-3. Horton threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Charlie Parker earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 2-0. Tu-chin Pak got the save, the 4th for him this season.

Olympia used a clutch hit from Charles Dalby to snatch the win. The pinch hitter belted a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Ogres ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was huge.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Virginia Beach skipper Domingo García, "and it cost us."

At 20-24, the Ogres find themselves in 7th place in the Premier AA.
