4-1 Loss to Mariachis Extends Ft. Polk South Losing Streak
|
Ed Hicks left his imprint on the 4-1 Nuevo Mexico win against the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks. Hicks hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Picking up the win was Kent Woods. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits. The right--hander struck out 5 and walked 4. Francisco Pacheco closed the door for Nuevo Mexico, picking up his 11th save of the year.
With Nuevo Mexico leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Hicks hit a fastball from Kyle Conley for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Mariachis ahead, 3-0.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Hicks.
Ft. Polk South is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.
