Whales Pull Even With 4-0 Victory

KC Academy Field was the site for USPL Double A action featuring the Athletic Club KC Academy and Virginia Beach Whales.
Jesús Fernández made an impact in the 4-0 Virginia Beach win over Athletic Club KC Academy. Fernández, who is tied for 6th in the PAA in RBI with 24, went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win was credited to Richard Wood in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Edison Washington took the loss.
Fernández had a key at-bat for Virginia Beach early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and gave Virginia Beach an early 3-0 lead.
"It was our day today," Fernández told the Virginia Beach Daily. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
The Whales' win now puts them at 16-16.
