Thunder Hawks Knock Off Rails, 8-2
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 23-year old right fielder Andrew Brown, the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks stopped the Richland Rails, 8-2. Ft. Polk South reliever Bob Archer picked up the win to move to 3-0. Roberto Chaumond suffered the loss. Gene Scott picked up the save for Ft. Polk South, his 1st of the year.
José Hernández took Roberto Chaumond deep in the bottom of the first. His 3-run home run put the Thunder Hawks on top, 3-0. In all, Hernández had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"If we keep hitting the ball well, the wins will pile up," said Ft. Polk South skipper John Anderson.
With the victory, the Thunder Hawks upped their record to 13-11.
