Rails Cut Down Turbeaus, 2-0
|
The Gulf Coast Turbeaus went down to defeat to Elroy Mastenbroek and his Richland teammates. The final score was 2-0 in favor of the Rails. Mastenbroek got the win, improving to 2-2. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. Mastenbroek allowed no runs. Juan Trujillo recorded his 6th save for Richland.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the seventh inning, but Dani Alomar didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Gulf Coast trailing 2-0, Alomar retired Ryan Hunter to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Alomar, with a wink.
At 9-12, the Rails claim 8th place in the Premier AA.
