Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks and Virginia Beach Whales.

Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks starter Teddy Barnes hurled his team past the Virginia Beach Whales, 4-2. Ft. Polk South goes to 9-8.

Wallace Sanders, the 27-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Sanders contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the second inning to put Ft. Polk South up, 2-0.

After the game, Ft. Polk South manager John Anderson applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
