In a low-scoring game between Gulf Coast and Gwinnett, pitcher Brenden Cleverdon was excellent. The Gulf Coast left-hander helped his team knock off the Guinea Pigs, 1-0. The winning pitcher was Cleverdon, now 1-1. He tossed 5.2 innings of 1-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 6. The loss drops Gwinnett to 12-5.

Tim Wise drove in one run for Gulf Coast. In the top of the fourth, with the teams deadlocked, 0-0, Wise delivered for the Turbeaus. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Gulf Coast on top, 1-0.

"I had pretty good command out there," said Cleverdon.
