Melanson Delivers Walk-Off Win for Whales
In a tight contest at Virginia Beach Grounds, the Virginia Beach Whales edged the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks by the score of 10-9. Virginia Beach second baseman Gregory Jones, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. The win gives the Whales a record of 7-9.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Virginia Beach shortstop Jon Melanson, facing Hilario López, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Whales the 10-9 win.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Domingo García said.
