Both teams had their chances, but the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks eventually prevailed.

Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks starter Teddy Barnes was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Gulf Coast Turbeaus, 5-4. The loss makes Gulf Coast 8-5.

The Thunder Hawks got a big at-bat from right fielder José Hernández. For the game, Hernández was 1-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 3rd double of the season gave Ft. Polk South a 3-2 lead.

"I felt good even in the late innings," said Barnes after the game.
