5-for-5 Day for Liñares
The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs stopped the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis by a score of 12-2 at Experimental Stadium today, with the lion's share of the credit going to first baseman Desi Liñares. The 28-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.

"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Liñares said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."

Liñares did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Mariachis.

"Not much that I can say," offered Nuevo Mexico manager Kyle Bass. "He just hammered the heck out of us."

Desi Liñares hit a two-run home run off Nicholas Carey in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

Liñares is currently batting .395 with 7 home runs and 20 RBIs.
