The Ithaca Fighting Imps got a magnificent performance from pitcher Bryant Clark, who stifled the Virginia Beach offense en route to a 3-1 Fighting Imps win at Imps Park. Clark, now 1-1, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. Virginia Beach falls to 1-6.

In the top of the ninth, Jesús Fernández stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Whales were trailing 3-1, but had runners on 1st and 2nd. That's when Ángel Hernández made a terrific pitch and Fernández struck out. Gone was the dream of a Virginia Beach comeback.
