Randy Woodruff pitched a gem to lead Gwinnett to victory over the Virginia Beach Whales, 4-1. José Marquis earned save number 1 this season. The win puts Gwinnett at 3-2.

Gwinnett used the bat of Desi Liñares to capture the win. The first baseman jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Guinea Pigs ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
