Montoya Now 1-0 After Subduing Fighting Imps
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Richland Rails and the Ithaca Fighting Imps, Pepe Montoya was the difference-maker. The Richland right-hander spearheaded the 3-0 win. Juan Trujillo was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save. The Rails, now 3-1, have hit the ground running this season.
The Fighting Imps had trouble solving Montoya, who surrendered no runs on 3 hits over 8 innings.
"I like what I saw today," said Richland manager Tony Newell, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
