The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles wasted an impressive 6.2-inning effort from starter Jorge Enríquez, falling 2-1 to the Barton Springs Blues at Blues Field. Barton Springs reliever Sun-ho Yang was the winner. His record is now 6-3. The losing pitcher was Stuart Fossett. Barton Springs now has a 3-game win streak.
Barton Springs won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no outs and Stuart Fossett on the mound for Mercer Island, first baseman Mark Fuller hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Blues fans to their feet.
"Our team showed some spunk," said Fuller.
