Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Blues
The Barton Springs Blues topped the St. Petersburg Thunder, 2-0, in USSL Double A action at Baby Thunder Dome. The game was highlighted by the performance of Barton Springs pitcher Julius Angrenny. Katsunosuki Hirayama got credit for the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. Sun-ho Yang got the save, the 20th for him this season.

Barton Springs used the timely hitting of Dave van Schaack to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blues on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said van Schaack.

With the win, Barton Springs upped its record to 50-47.
