|
Minnesota Loons starter Alberto Nieves turned in an exceptional performance against the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas at Loony Bin, resulting in a Minnesota win, 3-2. The winning pitcher was Nieves, now 9-5. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 8. George Murray got the save, his 3rd in 3 chances.
Miguel Flores had a critical at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the eighth for Minnesota. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Minnesota in front, 2-0.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Chesapeake skipper Dave Everett.
Minnesota is 43-48 and Chesapeake, with the loss, 34-57.
