Atoms Get 4-2 Win Versus St. Petersburg
|
The Bethesda Atoms picked up a win at Atoms Field, knocking off the St. Petersburg Thunder, 4-2. Starting pitcher Carlos Gómez was a big reason why. Gómez picked up the win for Bethesda, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 3-8. The Atoms go to 22-68 with the win.
Ray Englund had a critical at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the sixth for Bethesda. He came through with a 2-run double to put Bethesda in front, 3-0.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Gómez.
