Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Dolphins
|
Dolphins third baseman Marnix Sinke put his stamp on his team's 4-2 win over the Minnesota Loons. Sinke was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk for Pine Island in the contest. Pine Island reliever Pie-qi Huang picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Carlos Piñeiro shouldered the loss. The second-place Dolphins now have a win-loss record of 54-34.
The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Don Turner came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Minnesota pitcher Carlos Piñeiro, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Pine Island on top, 3-2.
Sinke told a Pine Island Citizen reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
