The Squirrel Hill Pierogis got a magnificent performance from pitcher Brian Thomas, who stifled the Minnesota offense en route to a 3-1 Pierogis win at Field of the Rawhides. At 49-37, the Pierogis find themselves in third place in the Silver AA.

Jov Shantsev had a clutch at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for the Pierogis. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Squirrel Hill trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run single.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Squirrel Hill skipper Marcos Costa.
