Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Mockingbirds
The Mississippi Mockingbirds took San Mateo pitcher Sylvain Richard's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Lang Park. The final score had Mississippi getting past the Dirty Reds, 4-3. Richard went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 12. Mississippi, now 45-44, holds down 4th place in the Premier League.

A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the top of the eighth inning. That's when center fielder Ai-de Lau, who is tied for 4th in the PL in total bases with 183, hit a triple. The Mockingbirds went on to win.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said San Mateo manager David Dodds. "But we decided not to take it."
