Dolphins Sink Thunder, 4-2
|
The Pine Island Dolphins topped the St. Petersburg Thunder, 4-2, the lion's share of the credit going to center fielder Bobby Kreijling. On the day, Kreijling went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Dolphins. Gilberto Elías earned the win for Pine Island. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 2. With the win, he raised his record to 2-1. With the win, Pine Island pushed its record to 52-31.
Pine Island took a 4-2 lead on Kreijling's 23rd home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Mathew Ferguson in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Pine Island to the win.
