The St. Petersburg Thunder wiggled past the Minnesota Loons, 3-2, at Loony Bin. The win was highlighted by the performance of St. Petersburg pitcher Manuel Villalobos. St. Petersburg reliever Marc Potts was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Carlos Piñeiro. St. Petersburg, now 35-43, holds down 8th place in the Silver AA.

Runs were few and far between in this one. So, Mark Hart's at-bat with one out in the top of the 11th was crucial. The St. Petersburg catcher hit a sacrifice fly, to give his team a 3-2 lead.

After the game, St. Petersburg manager Emílio Sáenz applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
