Dolphins Fall to Screaming Eagles, 6-1
|
José Zamora pitched a gem to lead Mercer Island to victory over the Pine Island Dolphins, 6-1. The loss makes Pine Island 46-29.
Mercer Island used the clutch hitting of Luis Macazaga to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Screaming Eagles ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
In postgame comments to the Mercer Island Bulletin, Macazaga said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
