Fading Atoms Lose 9th Straight
|
The Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas went home winners at Atoms Field, thanks in large part to starter Clay Perkins. Perkins stifled the Bethesda Atoms, enabling Chesapeake to grab the 4-1 win. Bethesda is in the throes of a 9-game losing streak.
Chesapeake used the clutch hitting of Baden Baldwin to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Cangrejos Fantasmas the lead, 2-1. For the game, Baldwin had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Cangrejos Fantasmas manager Dave Everett, "I like our chances."
