Love Boats Go Down to Defeat, 6-4
Lake Minnetonka center fielder Lucas Lerwill had a good game, even if his team did not. The Love Boats dropped a 6-4 decision to St. Petersburg at Heron Field. Lerwill was 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The winner was Nicolas Cernin, who threw 100 pitches over 7 innings. The left-hander was charged with 2 runs on 6 hits. Marc Potts earned the save for St. Petersburg, his 2nd.

St. Petersburg used the timely hitting of Kauto Jarvi to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Thunder on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"The most important thing is that we won," Jarvi said.

St. Petersburg is now 27-39.
