Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Blues
St. Petersburg got a terrific performance from pitcher Nicolas Cernin, but it wasn't enough to beat the Barton Springs Blues. Barton Springs won the Blues Field contest, 5-2. Cernin threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Barton Springs reliever Lee tai hoi Chen picked up the win, upping his record to 3-4. Juan López shouldered the loss. Sun-ho Yang notched his 12th save in 13 chances.

Cal Moore went 1-3 with a walk for Barton Springs. The 25-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Juan López. It was his 8th walk of the season.

"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Barton Springs manager Joe Kehoe.

The 5th-place Blues now have a 4-game winning streak.
