Late Rally by Blues Secures 3-1 Win
|
Barton Springs starter Curt Stokes had a strong outing against the St. Petersburg Thunder at Blues Field. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 3-1 win. Barton Springs reliever Graviel Azevedo picked up the win, upping his record to 5-3. Shusui Suzuki took the loss. Sun-ho Yang sewed up the save, his 11th.
Ron Jiménez drew 1 walk for Barton Springs. In the bottom of the eighth, with the teams deadlocked, 1-1, Jiménez delivered for the Blues. His run-scoring walk put Barton Springs on top, 2-1.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Jiménez.
