Minnesota and Lake Minnetonka duked it out and the Loons came out victorious.

Lake Minnetonka first baseman Kwi-tae Im had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Im was 3-4 with 3 singles and was hit by a pitch, even as Minnesota beat the Love Boats, 5-3. Minnesota reliever Michael Kilshaw was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Dan Rasmussen. Carlos Piñeiro got credit for the save for Minnesota. It was his 1st of the year.

The Love Boats had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Loons going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old center fielder Gianni Schaar came to the plate. Schaar hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch fastball from Lake Minnetonka hurler Dan Rasmussen. It was Schaar's 4th double of the year.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Schaar.

Minnesota, at 29-32, holds down 7th place in the Silver AA.
