Loons Lose to Blues in Walk Off
|
Getting a good performance from pinch hitter Dave van Schaack, the Barton Springs Blues defeated the Minnesota Loons, 8-4. van Schaack was 1-1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Blues. The 5th-place Blues now have a win-loss record of 28-25.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, van Schaack hit a fastball from Henny Olthuis for a grand slam home run. The Blues, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Joe Kehoe said.
