Gilbert Owen pitched a gem to lead Chesapeake to victory over the Bethesda Atoms, 7-1. Owen, now 4-2, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. The Cangrejos Fantasmas improve their record to 18-35 with the win over Bethesda.
Chesapeake used a well-timed hit by Dan Lawson to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Cangrejos Fantasmas ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Owen.
