Loons Take Down Dolphins, 4-1

Alberto Nieves never let the Dolphins get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his slider, to pitch the Loons to a win, 4-1. The winner was Minnesota reliever Pat Harmon, now 3-3. The loser was Eric Hill. The 7th-place Loons have a record of 20-26.
Minnesota used the timely hitting of Juan Guzmán to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 3-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Loons ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said Pine Island manager Chua-kah Liu.
