Dirty Reds Hang 2-0 Loss on Leviathan
|
San Mateo starter Jorge González had a strong outing against the Nova Scotia Leviathan at Lang Park. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 2-0 win. González went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 8-6. Michael Donovan recorded the save for San Mateo, his 14th of the season.
San Mateo took a 2-0 lead on Quitério Ruah's 22nd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Ruah hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Nova Scotia pitcher Tomás Ramírez visibly frustrated.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said San Mateo skipper David Dodds.
The Dirty Reds sit in 7th place in the Premier League with a record of 38-46.
