Loons Need Extra Frames to Get Past Thunder
The Minnesota Loons defeated the St. Petersburg Thunder, 6-4, at Baby Thunder Dome today. Leading the charge for Minnesota was right fielder Gianni Schaar. He went 4-5 with 4 singles, while scoring 3 runs. With the victory, the Loons record now stands at 15-15.

This game was not decided until Claudio Guzmán came to bat in the top of the tenth. With the bases loaded and one out, the Minnesota pinch hitter drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Loons took the lead, 5-4.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Guzmán told the Minnesota Gazette.
