Loons Earn 3-2 Win Versus Thunder
The Minnesota Loons took St. Petersburg pitcher Joe Belcher's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Baby Thunder Dome. The final score had Minnesota getting past the Thunder, 3-2. Belcher went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 6. José Rodríguez, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3 innings. The Thunder, now 13-16, have lost 4 in a row.

Minnesota used a timely hit from Pedro Palgon to get the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Loons ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"We found a way to get it done," Palgon said.
