Pierogis Pick Up 4-2 Win

Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Squirrel Hill Pierogis got the win.
The Squirrel Hill Pierogis trumped the Minnesota Loons, 4-2, at Field of the Rawhides. Squirrel Hill center fielder Mike Holmes was terrific. He was 2-3 with a triple and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Squirrel Hill reliever Jamal Baldwin picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. Micheal Bly was tagged with the loss. Nathan May collected his 9th save.
With Squirrel Hill leading 2-1 in the bottom of the second, Holmes came up to bat against Minnesota pitcher Micheal Bly. Holmes hit a fastball to left-center for a 2-run triple. His 4th triple of the season put the Pierogis on top, 4-1.
"It's always extra special to win at home," said Holmes.
This win makes it 5 in a row for Squirrel Hill.
