The Pine Island Dolphins picked up a win at Goodyear Hanger Dome, knocking off the Barton Springs Blues, 4-2. Starting pitcher Cédric Barbot played a key role in the triumph. Barbot went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 1, and struck out 9. His record improves to 1-0. The loss drops the Blues to 6-10.
The Dolphins got a big at-bat from catcher Roelof Bouwman. For the game, Bouwman went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Pine Island a 4-2 lead.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Pine Island manager Chua-kah Liu. "It's usually not just one thing."
