Love Boats Walk It Off for 7th Win of Season
|
The Lake Minnetonka Love Boats had to overcome a fine effort from Minnesota pitcher Alberto Nieves to grab a narrow 2-1 win at Heron Field. Nieves went 6.2 innings and allowed no runs. Rick Scott earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record is now 2-0. The win gives Lake Minnetonka a record of 7-4.
The Love Boats relied on first baseman Kwi-tae Im for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 13th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Im.
