Mockingbirds Take Down White Walkers, 3-2
|
The Mississippi Mockingbirds picked up a win at Beyond the Wall, knocking off the Buffalo White Walkers, 3-2. Starting pitcher Fernando Lujino was a big reason why. Lujino went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 6-5. Mississippi has run its win streak to 4 in a row.
Mississippi used the clutch hitting of Ai-de Lau to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Mockingbirds ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Lau told the Mississippi Gazette.
