Miller Helps Knights Win, 7-1, with Pair of Homers
|
The Kingston Township Knights beat the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 7-1, at Cloverdale Legion Park. Steve Miller was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The two-time Gold Glove winner was a menace to Thunder Bay all day. Kingston Township pitcher Joo-hyun Pak got the win. He's now 4-0. Hakizimana Kipkorir was tagged with the loss. Ki-seop Ch'oe locked down his 1st save.
Had Grover Barbaran not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Barbaran hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Knights.
Miller told a Kingston Township Daily reporter that he was "very satisfied" with the win.
With the victory, the Knights upped their record to 46-37.
