Elite Trip Oaks, 5-3, in Extra Innings
|
This fight went fifteen rounds and the Elite came out the winner.
Detroit picked up a win at The Oak Grove, bumping off the Oakland Oaks, 5-3. Pitcher Carlos Sandoval was a major reason the Elite emerged victorious. Victor Brown, now 1-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2.
The outcome might have been different for Detroit, had it not been for Tom Scroby, the 26-year old second baseman . Scroby stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 15th inning to put Detroit up, 4-3. For the game, he was 3 for 7, including 2 doubles and 1 single.
"This was a good win," said Scroby.
Detroit now has a 4-game win streak.
