Fans watched the Buckhead Bowties and the Toledo Stingers fight to the finish.

The Buckhead Bowties withstood an impressive performance by Toledo first baseman Alfred Howard Biggs to defeat the Stingers, 7-6, at 5 Paces Park. Biggs went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 times. Dennis Heath got credit for the save for Buckhead. It was his 3rd of the year.

Wayne Haylock drew 2 walk for Buckhead. In the bottom of the seventh, with the teams deadlocked, 6-6, Haylock delivered for the Bowties. His run-scoring walk put Buckhead on top, 7-6.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Haylock, "but we got it done."

At 24-27, the Bowties are currently 8th in the Third League.
