Peric Impressive in Northern Virginia Win
|
In a tight game between the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids and the San Mateo Dirty Reds, pitcher Ratko Peric was terrific on the mound. The Northern Virginia left-hander helped his team to the 3-0 win. Juan Valseca was credited with the save for Northern Virginia, his 18th of the season. The Rainbow Mermaids improved to 29-34.
Peric dominated for Northern Virginia, raising his record to 3-2. San Mateo hitters had few good at-bats against the left-hander, who scattered 3 hits over 8 innings while striking out 8.
"This team is capable of getting on a roll," said Northern Virginia skipper David Lister.
