Drummers Prevail, 3-1, Over Monongahela
|
Drummers Ballpark was the site of a tense game between the Monongahela Monsters and Tortolita Drummers.
The Tortolita Drummers got a stellar performance from pitcher Iban Wilson, who handcuffed the Monongahela offense en route to a win, 3-1, at Drummers Ballpark. Wilson got the win, improving to 10-3. He allowed 3 hits and walked 5 over 7 innings. Wilson allowed no runs. Rafael Navarro was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 23 of 24 save opportunities.
Gene Haber, who is tied for 3rd in the SAAA with a .826 OPS, chipped in for Tortolita with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Wilson.
Tortolita has a record of 52-48, placing them 4th in the Silver AAA.
