Black Mambas Mow Down Drummers, 10-3
|
The Austin Black Mambas beat the Tortolita Drummers, 10-3, at Drummers Ballpark. Félix Gonzáles, in particular, was impressive. He went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. Dan Sanders was the winning pitcher. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, with 3 walks and 1 strikeout. The Black Mambas now have a record of 39-59 with the win over Tortolita.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Raymond Parsons? The Austin first baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Black Mambas on top, 3-0. For the game, Parsons had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Gonzáles.
