Flyers Get One-Run Win at Tortolita
|
The Pennsauken Flyers had to overcome a good performance from Tortolita pitcher Robert Newsome to claim a 2-1 win at Drummers Ballpark. Newsome went 9 innings and allowed 2 runs. Jung-kyoo So got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. The 'W' lifts Pennsauken's record to 38-57.
Miron Bozovic took Robert Newsome deep in the top of the second. His 2-run home run put the Flyers on top, 2-0. In all, Bozovic had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"The old adage is true," said Bozovic. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
