Late Magic Gets Santa Barbara 8-3 Win
Hartford got a terrific performance from pitcher Matthew Rentería, but it wasn't enough to beat the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes. Santa Barbara won the Pride Park contest, 8-3. Rentería threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The winning pitcher was Gelana Maitho. His record is now 4-7. The right-hander went 7.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits for the Golden Cranes. Santa Barbara's record now stands at 36-48, placing them 7th in the Silver AAA.

Santa Barbara used the timely hitting of Turner Barnes to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Golden Cranes on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Santa Barbara manager Frank Glass.
