Pajaritos Suffer 2-1 Loss to Drummers
|
The Drummers faced a stiff challenge from Norfolk pitcher Stuart Chase, but persevered to claim a win at Norfolk Field. The final score was 2-1. Chase went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Gabriel Leeds earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 2-0. Rafael Navarro collected his 22nd save.
Tortolita used the timely hitting of James Gray to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Drummers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Anytime I can help the team, I feel good about it," said Gray.
At 43-39, the Drummers are currently 4th in the Silver AAA.
