The Hartford Pride faced a tough opponent in Austin pitcher George Crane, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Pride Park by a final score of 4-3. Crane went 8.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. Stephen Palmer, now 2-2, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 1. The Black Mambas, at 28-48, have lost 6 in a row.

Hartford won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With two outs and Javier Rúbio on the mound for Austin, center fielder Kenny Gray hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Pride fans to their feet.
